Users who visit your website expect to be able to find their way around. No one likes a website that is hard to use or has pages that simply do not work. Coming up with a road map and strategy from the very beginning can save you a lot of headache and avoidable problems later on down the road. The way users interact with your website is known as the users experience.
Coming up with ideas of pages that you want on your website isn’t hard at all. Everyone knows the pages that they want on their website, but does anyone know what they actually want them to do? Saying “I want a contact page” is vague. A better idea is to know the exact content that you want to have on that specific page, the methods of contact that are going to be used, how the customer or visitor is going to contact you (form, simple email link..etc), and if you want other enhancements such as widgets from third party sources such as facebook and twitter to be included.
Of course, being a business owner, your main focus should be running your business, not what happens whenever someone clicks the “Contact” link. Before we start our projects, we map out how the website is going to work so that we know the foundation and features that will be included in the final project.
